Ralph Foltz

Ralph V. Foltz, 95, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Celebration Villa of Shippensburg.

Born Saturday, August 11, 1928 in Newburg, PA, he was a son of the late Earl Franklin and Minerva Ellen Davis Foltz.

He retired as owner and operator of the Foltz Sunoco Gas Station in Shippensburg, for 39 years, and later retired as a custodian from the Shippensburg Area Middle School, with 15 years of service.

Ralph was a member of the Newburg First Church of God and a former member of the Shippensburg AARP.

Ralph was the youngest and the last one of his immediate family. He enjoyed hunting, telling stories, and traveling around the United States on bus trips, alongside his wife Lois.

He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Lois Jean Pugh Foltz of Shippensburg, whom he married April 16, 1946; one daughter Judy Kay (Robert) Shively, Sr., Shippensburg; five grandchildren, Robert H. (Renee) Shively, Jr., Troy L. (Sonja) Shively, Jennifer Byers, John M. (Alicia) Byers, and Andrew (Talia) Byers; twelve great-grandchildren, Allyson, Bradley, and his wife Kristen, Rachel, Elijah, Isaiah, Seth, Anthony, Adrianna, Jamison, Jassper, Rhealynette, and Olen; two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Carley; and one son-in-law, Rev. John E. (Emma) Byers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna (Foltz) Byers; three brothers; two sisters; three stepbrothers; and one stepsister.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Newburg First Church of God Chapel, with Chaplain Megan Gustafson and The Rev. John E. Byers officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the church.
