Ralph B. Alleman, 85, of Shippensburg, died on Saturday, December 25, 2010, at his home.

Born on January 7, 1925, in Lurgan Township, Franklin County, a son of the late John and Mabel Fields Alleman.

Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, inducted on May 13, 1943 and honorably discharged on December 14, 1945. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Service Medal with five Bronze Stars, and the World War II Victory Medal.

On March 12, 1949, Ralph married Ms. Violet L. Farner in Hagerstown, MD. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2001.

Ralph was employed as an Equipment Specialist at the Letterkenny Army Depot., retiring on February 1, 1980.

He was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church, a life member of both the Cumberland Valley Hose Company #2 and Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. #6168, Shippensburg. In his leisure time, Ralph enjoyed country western music and movies and also played both the banjo and guitar. He liked to fish, garden, and work around his house.

He is survived by two sons, Brenton E. Alleman of Shippensburg and Gregory L. (Colleen) Alleman of Newburg; one daughter, Brenda E. (Charles) Kunkleman of Shippensburg; one sister, Betty (Harold) Weaver of Lurgan; seven great grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ralph was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Baker, who died on June 10, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 30, 2001, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. James O. Bolich will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prince Street United Brethren Church at 17 N. Prince St. Shippensburg, PA 17257.
