Ralma Fry

Ralma C. Fry, 62, of Shippensburg, died Friday, June 29, 2012 in the Harrisburg Hospital.

Born December 16, 1949 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Arthur R. Burkhart, Jr. and Alma B. Sprenkle Burkhart Hays.

Ralma was a 1967 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, a 1971 graduate of Millersville University and received her Master’s degree from Shippensburg University. She retired after 37 years of teaching Chemistry and Advanced Placement Chemistry at the Carlisle High School. Ralma then began working for the family business, Andoco, Inc., which includes Towne Cleaners and Cumberland Valley Rental in Shippensburg.

She was a member of the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg Civic Club and the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. Ralma enjoyed teaching her students, playing piano, family vacations to the Chesapeake Bay and Ocean City, NJ, cooking, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bethany C. Fry who died May 12, 1985.

She is survived by her husband, Donald A. Fry, two sons, Colby A. Fry and his wife Charity of Shippensburg, and Timothy D. Fry and his wife Shannon of Boiling Springs, two daughters, Katherine Y. Fry of Shippensburg, and Abigail K. Hanson and her husband Brady of Phoenix, AZ, three grandchildren, Andrew C. and Mia L. Fry both of Shippensburg, and Kayla V. Fry of Boiling Springs, one brother, Arthur Ray Burkhart, III of Jacksonville, FL, one sister, Beth B. Belden of East Berlin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 6 p.m. in the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Michael K. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no viewing, however a visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. in the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg Public Library Public Campaign Fund, 73 West King Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
