Rachel M. Laughlin, 83, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 in her home. She was born Wednesday, August 16, 1939 in Doylesburg to the late Alda and Fred Junkins.
Rachel graduated from Fannett Metal High School and then went on to work for Shippensburg University as a custodian for some of her life. She also worked as a telephone operator and spent much of her time as a stay-at-home mom.
Rachel loved to read her Bible and spent many Sundays as a Sunday School Teacher at the Newburg First Church of God where she attended. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and spent many summers in Chincoteague and time at the family cabin. In her free time, she enjoyed art, painting, and making music on her piano.
Rachel is survived by one grandson, Richard Laughlin III of Newburg; one granddaughter, Erin Warner of Fayetteville; two brothers, Theodore Junkins and wife Carol of Missouri and Patrick Junkins of Chambersburg; one sister, Faye Rotz of Chambersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Laughlin; one son, Richard Laughlin II; four brothers, Foster Junkins, George Junkins, Paul Junkins, and John Junkins; and two sisters, Barb Bramm and Minnie Peterson.
Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
