Peter Michael “Mike” Staggs, 52, of Shippensburg, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Hershey Medical Center.
Born Saturday, October 26, 1968 in Russellville, Arkansas, he was a son of Gloria O’Donnell and the late John Hughes.
Mike was a graduate of Russellville High School. He joined the United States Army, specializing in 2/N10 Forward Area Alerting Radar Repair, and was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal and Expert Badge, Grenade. He also participated in training for “Operation Desert Storm”. At the completion of his military service, he attended Hagerstown Business College with an emphasis in Marketing and Management.
He together with his wife, Katie, owned and operated American Material Supply, he was a volunteer at Chambersburg Hospital and was an ordained minister. He enjoyed playing guitar and keyboard, often performing at worship services.
Surviving are his wife, Katie Spackman Staggs, his mother, Gloria O’Donnell; four children, Elizabeth (Kris) Powell, Fayetteville, Erik Staggs, Shippensburg, Tobin and Treslyn Staggs at home; four grandchildren, Shana, Mitchel and Isla Powell and Hunter Staggs; one brother, McKinlee O’Donnell.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Living Faith Chapel, 8770 Possum Hollow Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257 with the Rev. Eldon Martin officiating. Burial will be private.
