Peggy J. Weaver Nicholson, 79 a resident of Green Ridge Village, Newville, formerly of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the home.
Born December 31, 1930 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Harrison, Sr. and Lillie Beckenbaugh Weaver.
A homemaker most of her life, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting, gardening, music and most of all spending time with her family. She was a graduate of the Shippensburg High School. Peggy attended the Spirit of Christ Church, Chambersburg and was active with the Women’s Aglow Ministries and various other church activities. Everyone that knew Peggy loved her and she influenced and touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Nicholson who died January 18, 1994, one brother, Harrison Weaver, Jr., one sister, Lois Perry and a nephew, Rodney Weaver.
Peggy is survived by two sons; Robert E. Nicholson, II and his wife Marie of Chambersburg, and Jeffery A. Nicholson and his wife Kathryn of Shippensburg, one daughter, Page E. Eckenrode and her husband Mark of Lurgan, four grandchildren; Lori Bouder of Scotland, Robert Matthew Nicholson and Ryan Nicholson both of Orrstown, and Nathan Nicholson of Shippensburg, three great grandchildren; Samantha and Dakota Traini both of Chambersburg, and Audrey Nicholson of Orrstown, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Sampson R. Myers. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to the services Friday morning.
