Peggy A. Elliott

Peggy A. Elliott, 92, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.

She was born on Sunday, October 9, 1932 in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Melvin L. and Doris Hancock Crist. 

Peggy was a 1950 graduate of the Chambersburg High School and member of the Chambersburg Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and trips to the beach. Above all else, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. 

She is survived by two sons, Steven D. (Dorothy) Elliott of Exmore, VA and David M. (Marguerite) Elliott of Newburg; four grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Mays, Regan (Aaron) Peterson, Joshua Elliott, and Nathaniel (Stephanie) Elliott; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald G. Crist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin E. “Slim” Elliott, whom passed away on August 5, 2017. Also preceding in death are four siblings, Helen P. Brindle, Sally J. Shindledecker, Melba R. Hess, and James M. Crist. 

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Parklawns Memorial Gardens with Pastor Darlene Stouffer officiating. Per Peggy’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or visitation.
