Peggy H. Ditzler, 94, lifelong resident of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Sunday, February 16, 2025.
She was born on July 20, 1930, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Powell Hall.
Peggy attended Carlisle Commercial College to study accounting. Upon graduating, she worked as a bookkeeper at the First National Bank for two years. Peggy eventually moved on to the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot working as an office administrator for four years, then transferred to the Letterkenny Army Depot where she was employed for thirty one years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ for sixty five years where she served as an Elder Emeritae and was a member of the choir. Peggy also previously served on the Board for Shippensburg Meals on Wheels and the Shippensburg Civic Club. In her free time she enjoyed vacations with her family and playing cards in bridge clubs.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Ramsey and husband Michael of Shippensburg; her grandson, Brandon M. Ramsey and wife Tara of Harrisburg; her great grandson, Collin M. Ramsey of Harrisburg; a sister, Barbara Eagle of York; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings and their spouses, Janet (Harold) Ocker, Dorothy (James) Bosler, Robert Hall, Gladys (George) Commerer, Betty (James) Reddig, and Julia (Paul) Cox.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 22, 2025, in the Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg. Rev. George Heckard will officiate. We will reconvene for interment in the Spring Hill Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Church of Christ at 121 E Orange St, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
