Pauline V. Hinkle, 93, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Monday, May 20, 2024.
She was born on September 17, 1930, in Dry Run, a daughter of the late John F. Seibert and Helen M. Price. Pauline was a 1949 graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She married James E. Hinkle on February 9, 1950 in Virginia. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2005.
Pauline worked as a seamstress at the former Greif Co., Shippensburg, for forty-seven years, retiring as a supervisor in 1998. After retirement, she operated her own sewing / mending business from her home for many years.
Pauline was a longtime, active, and faithful member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and taking care of her home.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Shoff and husband Edgar of York; two grandsons, Allen J. Shoff and wife Abigail of Marysville and Kevin I. Shoff and wife Weslee of York; two great grandsons, Samuel J. Shoff and Joshua D. Shoff both of York; and three siblings, Paul Seibert and wife Jere of Shippensburg, Kenneth Seibert and wife Mary of Carlisle, and Jane Alleman of Bonneauville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by seven siblings, Donald Seibert, John Seibert, Jr., Gladys Morehouse, James Seibert, Robert Seibert, Frederick Seibert, and Louise Phenicie.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton and Rev. Robert Vizthum will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday morning at the church.
