Paul Shoap

Paul E. “Jack” Shoap, Jr., 81, of Newville, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at UPMC Pinnacle, Carlisle.

He was born Tuesday, July 9, 1940 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County. Paul was a son of the late Paul E., Sr. and Kathryn (Sowers) Shoap.

Paul retired from the Carlisle Army Barracks where he was a printer. He enjoyed NASCAR, the Phillies, the Eagles, the Redskins, hunting, playing cards and going to the beach. Paul was an avid bingo player and years ago he enjoyed bowling in leagues in Newville and Shippensburg. He was a 1958 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School.

Paul is survived by his wife Wanda M. (Farner) Shoap; one daughter, Denise D. Ginter of Newburg; one son, Paul E. (Wendy) Shoap, III of Carlisle; one step-daughter, Kris (Wes) Enyeart of Carlisle; and one stepson, Brent Farner of Newville; one brother, David (Nancy) Shoap of Walnut Bottom; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one step-son, Kevin Farner; one sister, Dolly Hardman; and one brother, Wayne Shoap.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Officiating will be the Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
