Paul L. “Huck” Hockenberry, 72, of Newville, died Friday, July 16, 2010 in his home.
Born January 7, 1938 in Knossville, PA; he was a son of the late Roy and Sadie Smith Hockenberry.
He retired from the PA Turnpike Commission in December of 1999. Paul was a member of the Newburg First Church of God, Big Spring Lodge # 361 F.&A.M., Valley Forest # 145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Harrisburg Consistory, Big Spring Fish & Game Association, Yellow Breeches Anglers, and many other organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Janice M. Forrester Hockenberry, two sons; Randy L. Hockenberry and his wife Mary, and Keith C. Hockenberry all of Newville, one daughter, Brenda G. Pentz and her husband Michael of Shippensburg, seven grandchildren; Casey, Char, Ashley, Eric, Laci, Alysia, and Danielle, seven great grandchildren, and one brother, Jack Hockenberry of Roxbury.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in the Newburg First Church of God at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Dale H. Miller, Jr. and The Rev. Dennis Hunsinger. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Monday evening in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg from 6-8 p.m. with Masonic services conducted by the Big Spring Lodge at 7:30 p.m., and a viewing Tuesday morning one hour prior to the services in the church.
