Paul Berkner

Paul L. Berkner, 76, of Shippensburg, was received in the arms of Jesus the morning of Wednesday, August 16, 2023 surrounded by his loving daughters.

He was born on September 2, 1946 in Sewickley, PA, Allegheny County, a son of the late Paul J. and Mary (Ubrey) Berkner.

Paul was a member of the Chambersburg Alliance Church, where he was an Elder and worship leader. He enjoyed spending time with family, singing, cooking and took great pride in mowing his grass. Paul recently started his “card ministry” where he would send well wishes, birthday, anniversary, etc. cards to people in his church community. Paul worked hard his whole life and managed multiple Hardee’s restaurants until his retirement. Post retirement he worked part time at the Chambersburg Mall.

He is survived by his three daughters, Kellie (Scott) Walker, Adina Berkner, and Carri (Micah) Delosier; six grandchildren, Austin (Morgan), Hope, Micah Aaron, Gabriel Paul, Alana, and Mackenzie; and his brother, Roger (Ruthie) Berkner. He was loved for his uplifting sense of humor and will be deeply missed by his many family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Adele M. (Bosley) Berkner, who passed away on October 11, 2021.

Paul’s funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chambersburg Alliance Church, 230 Siloam Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Pastor Jeff McCracken will officiate. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Paul will be privately laid to rest alongside his wife in the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
