Patsy L. Franklin, 72, of Newburg, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in the Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 17, 1946 in Chambersburg, PA. Patsy was a daughter of the late Samuel S. and Isabell V. Frohm Failor. A daughter, Beth A. Abrams is also deceased.
She was a member of the Newburg United Methodist Church. Patsy was involved with numerous activities at the church. She was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Banquet Committee, a volunteer at the Shippensburg Fair Food Stand, the Yearly Pie Fundraising Event, and the Annual Spaghetti Dinner. She was one of the founders of the Church Day Care System. Patsy was also involved with the New Hope Recycling Program.
Patsy is survived by her husband, Fred F. Franklin; one son, Scott E. Franklin and his wife Holly of Newburg; one son-in-law, Alan Abrams of Summerfield, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Ava & Hannah Franklin and Patrick & Allison Abrams; and two sisters, Doris Smotherman of Newville and Vickie Gruver of Carlisle.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Newburg United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Judi A. Herrold and the Rev. Margaret H. Spengler. Burial will be private. A visitation and luncheon will be held at the church following the memorial service.
