Patricia Ruth

Patricia R. Ruth, 85, of Chambersburg, departed this life on the morning of Friday, March 9, 2018.

She was born on December 1, 1932, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late Lester and Ethel Mae Hoke Frey. Patricia was a 1950 graduate of Shippensburg High School and married William H. Ruth on June 23, 1951.

Patricia was an excellent homemaker who took pride in keeping an immaculate home which was always a warm, welcoming, and hospitable environment. She was well known for her cooking and baking skills, especially her chocolate cake. Patricia was an athlete in her younger years and an animal lover throughout her life. She cared a lot for her large family and especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of sixty-six years, William, she is survived by her four children, Yolanda R. (Jeffrey) Redding of Chambersburg, Patricia Ann (Dennis) Atkinson of Littlestown, W. Michael (Sarah) Ruth of Beaver Falls, and Nancie J. Ruth-McNew of Greencastle; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Redding; one brother; and two sisters.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Dr. Dennis Atkinson and Rev. Jeffrey Redding, her sons-in-law, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
