Patricia Kay “Patty” Pugh, 64, of Menno Haven at Brookview Skilled Care, Chambersburg, PA, formerly of Orrstown, PA, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018.
Born November 10, 1954 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Richard and Sara Bert Pugh.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orrstown. As a special needs individual, Patty was employed by the Occupations Services, Inc. (OSI) for 25 years. She also lived 25 years at C.R.O.S.S. Griffith House in St. Thomas and has spent her last three years as a cherished resident of Menno Haven at Brookview.
Patty could light up a room with her smile as she was a person of few words. She didn’t need words to express her emotions. Her calm and cheerful demeanor could infect one immediately. Her needs and wants were simple, yet her love was endless. She had figured out how to not sweat life’s challenges and provided tons of goodwill to those with whom she engaged. She loved parades, cats, McDonalds ice cream, Snoopy, and spaghetti. She taught many in the community how to interact with special needs individuals and see them as caring and productive individuals.
Patty is survived by her two sisters; Andrea Lee Pugh of Orrstown and Jean Pugh Shipman, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jean’s husband Mark James Shipman. Patty had three nieces – Jennifer Kistler Uhlenberg of Greensboro, NC; Robbyn Kistler of Brooklyn, NY, and Heidi Kile Kistler of Lancaster, PA.
Memorial services will be held at the chapel at Menno Haven at Brookview, Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg; on Saturday, December 8, 2018, starting at 1 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to C.R.O.S.S, 712 Pinola Rd., Shippensburg, PA 17257, OSI, 17 Redwood St., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or Menno Haven, 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
