Patricia Ruth Brumbaugh

Patricia (Simpson) Brumbaugh passed peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Celebration Villa of Shippensburg. 

She was born on July 25, 1935, the eldest of four children born to Wallace and Mary (Covalt) Simpson. 

She grew up on the family farm in Big Cove Tannery PA, where she enjoyed mushroom hunting and picking spring flowers on the farm. Patty also loved to cook for her family, her apple pies were especially popular. She was an avid bowler and was also a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Patty graduated from Warfordsburg High School (Southern Fulton) and began working in McConnellsburg, PA. She then moved to Chambersburg, where she met her husband, Fred. Patty held various jobs over the years including working at the State Store. 

Patty is survived by her husband, Fred Brumbaugh, one son, Dan; two sisters, Marian Seiders and Joanne Buckel; one half-sister Ann Simpson; and one half-brother Sam Simpson. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Carl Simpson; and stepmother Katherine (Mellott) Simpson. 

Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with Patricia’s funeral arrangements.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
