Pamela Fowler Thomas passed away on March 18, 2022 in Concord, MA with her daughters by her side.
Pamela was born March 3, 1941 in Newport, Rhode Island to Frances Fowler Lowman and Captain Roy Leighton Lowman, US Navy. She went to school in Chambersburg, PA and studied political science at Wilson College and Lebanon Valley College. She worked as a civil servant for the US Navy and the Veterans Administration, and as an administrator at Arrowood Civil Engineering. She married Jerry C. Thomas, a US Navy veteran, on February 14, 1976 in Shippensburg, PA.
Pamela was a member of Shippensburg Civic Club and the Shippensburg Presbyterian Church, and lived in Shippensburg until 2018. Pamela was an original spirit who had a strong sense of civic duty. She was a firm believer in kindness and the power of love. Pam appreciated children, beauty, and the creative process. While Pamela’s life was sometimes challenging, she persevered and maintained a sense of adventure and an easy laugh. Her light shone steadily for those who had eyes to see.
Pamela is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Jerry C. Thomas. She subsequently returned to New England.
Pamela is survived by daughters Kristina Wile and her husband John A. McNeill and Stephanie Wile Erdley and her husband Michael E. Erdley, sister Penelope Leighton, six grandchildren, Matthew Erdley, Kristen Erdley Beiersdorf, Nathan McNeill, David Erdley, Jordan McNeill, and Stephanie DeJesus-McNeill, and three great-grandchildren, Max, Cooper, and Zoe.
A graveside service will be held August 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in Shippensburg, PA at Spring Hill Cemetery with a celebration to follow, and an online remembrance can be found at the link below.
