Olivia L. Swanger, 83, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in her home.
Born February 17, 1929 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Ethel M. Kohler Beam.
She was a member of Mongul United Brethren Church, Shippensburg and retired from Manorcare Health Services as a Dietician.
She is survived by three sons, Mark Alan Swanger and his wife Kelly of New Germantown, Keith Beam Swanger and his wife Lucy of Roxbury, and David Athley Swanger and his wife Betsy of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, Stephanie Helm of Orange Park, Florida, Selena Swanger of Shippensburg, Mark Swanger of Red Lion, and Bobbie Sue Swanger of Roxbury, four great grandchildren, and two brothers, Richard K. Beam of Pleasant Hall, and Donald A. Beam of Shippensburg.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Joseph Swanger who died February 25, 2012, one grandson, Scott W. Swanger, and one brother, John R. Beam.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 5 p.m. in the Mongul United Brethren Church. Officiating will be The Rev. H. Marc Nelson. Burial will be in Mongul Cemetery. There will be no viewing however a visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the services in the church on Sunday.
