Olive Mae Plasterer, 92, a resident of the Shippensburg Health Care Center, formerly of Fayetteville, died on the afternoon of Saturday, February 1, 2014.
She was born on January 31, 1922, in Greene Twp., Franklin Co., a daughter of the late William L. and Olive M. Piper Barmont. On March 22, 1945, Olive married Ira I. Plasterer in the First Church of God Shippensburg. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1998.
Olive was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of the Greenwood Hills Assembly, Caledonia. In her leisure time, Olive loved to spend time working on her flower gardens. She had a large collection of cookie jars, China tea cups, and porcelain dolls. She was also a member of the Antique Car Club and Packard Car Club.
She is survived by two sisters, Crene (Mrs. Kenneth) Reisinger and Haddiee Rosenberry, both of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Olive was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Barmont and three sisters; Carrie Plasterer, Anna Meals, and Pheobe Cormany.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Dr. Arnold Fleagle, Rev. Trevor Rosenberry, and Mr. James Yorgey will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
