Norman E. Diehl, 74, of Shippensburg, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born January 12, 1937 in Orrstown, he was a son of the late Norman A. and Margaret R. Daugherty Diehl.
He retired from the Beistle Company in Shippensburg after over 33 years of employment. Norman was a member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church and the Patriotic Order of the Sons of America in Orrstown. He was a hard working, honest, and loving family man.
Norman was a United States Army veteran of Korea serving with the 101st Airborne Division.
He is survived by his wife, Julia A. Alleman Diehl, one son, Randall A. Diehl and his wife Brandy of Chambersburg, one daughter, Denise R. Morgan and her husband Dennis of Frederick, MD, three granddaughters, Nicole Hier, Chaselyn Diehl, and Tiffany Wolfe, two sisters, Janet Hershey of Orrstown, and Delores Mowery of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Dana Diehl.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011 in the Lurgan United Brethren Church at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Richard E. Mose. Burial with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg American Legion and VFW marching units will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg.
