Nora V. “Ginny” Neil, 71, of Pleasant Hall, departed this life on the morning of Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Restore Health, Shippensburg.
She was born on June 16, 1950, in Spring Run, a daughter of the late Chester and Pauline (Neil) Freet and married Amos Earl Neil on January 29, 1972. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2017.
Ginny worked as a presser at the former J. Schonneman Co., for twenty seven years. She also served as the custodian at the Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg, for twenty years.
Ginny was a longtime member of the Shady Pines Mennonite Church, Willow Hill. In her free time, she enjoyed going to thrift stores and reading Christian Life publications. Ginny loved to spend time with all of her grandchildren and always had fond memories of going hunting (for mushrooms too), with her late husband Amos, in their younger years.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Brenda Punt and her husband Barry, Sr.; two sons, Amos Eugene Neil and wife Kimberly of Fannettsburg, and James Neil and wife Melissa of Orrstown; four grandchildren, Ross Punt, Barry Punt, Jr., Todd Neil, and Kayce (Dylan) Foor; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia J. Smith and husband Mark of Shippensburg, and Linda Mickley and husband Michael of Chambersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Ginny was preceded in death by her brother, Lowery Freet.
Her graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 7, 2022, in the Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Spring Run. Pastor Marlin A. “Butch” Neil will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation prior to her graveside service.
