Nicki Y. Noel, 64, of Lanham, MD, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, after battling ovarian cancer.
She was born Sunday, July 22, 1956, in Chambersburg, PA, the eldest daughter of W. Theodore Noel and the late Anna L. (Diehl) Noel.
Nicki was a 1974 graduate of DuVal High School, Lanham, Maryland and a 1978 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor’s degree in education. After graduating, she worked for the National Geographic Society and the United States Postal Service, from which she retired.
She attended the Shippensburg First Church of God where she volunteered as a helper in the pre-school Flicker Sunday School Class. She also supported the Samaritan’s Purse ministry and made it her goal to pack at least 50 boxes each year for Operation Christmas Child.
Nicki lived with and cared for her parents. She enjoyed cooking and baking and will be remembered by her family for making the best Maryland Crab cakes. She also spent many summers on her family’s farm in Shippensburg and relished those memories and the time spent with her extended family.
Nicki is survived by her sisters Shirley M. Noel of Hyattsville, MD and Diane C. Pinchen of Houston TX, and one niece, Anna A. Pinchen of Houston TX.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11 am in the Shippensburg First Church of God with Pastor Gary Hornbaker officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 5-7 pm in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the 11 am service at church Friday morning.
