Nicholas Paul “Nick” Dorosh, 81, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Green Ridge Village.
He was born on July 2, 1941 in Carlisle, a son of the late Metro Phillip and Neoma Loretta (Zeigler) Dorosh. He married Sondra Jean Failor on July 27, 1963.
Nick was a 1959 graduate of the Big Spring High School. He was the owner and operator of Nick P. Dorosh Builder and later worked for Castle Windows. After retirement, he worked part-time in the lumber department at Lowe’s in Shippensburg. Nick was a past president of the Franklin County Builders Association, member of the Harrisburg Builders Association, and longtime member of the Oakville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, and was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Philadelphia Phillies.
In addition to his wife of nearly 60 years, Sondra Jean Dorosh, he is survived by one daughter, Nicole Jean (David) Myers of Madison, CT; two grandchildren, Abigail Jean and Bryce David Myers; two sisters, Susan Brown of Walnut Bottom and Alice Hair of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Phillip M. Dorosh; and one sister, Anita Sullivan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Blanca Baker will officiate. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
