Nellie M. Pennabaker, 90, a resident of the Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle, went to meet her husband in heaven on the morning of Sunday, December 29, 2013.
She was born on October 21, 1923, in Cleversburg, a daughter of the late David and Dora Strayer Eutzy.
Over the years, in addition to being a homemaker, Nellie had been employed at the former L’Aiglon Co., Shippensburg, Fehl Awning Co., Walnut Bottom, the Carlisle Mall, and the Carlisle Hospital. One of her favorite pastimes was to play bingo.
She is survived by three children, Gary L. (Margaret) Eutzy of Shippensburg, Connie J. Carey of Carlisle, and Timothy A. (Brenda) Pennabaker of Carlisle; step-daughter, Linda A. Swartz of Lake Wales, FL; step-son, Fred Pennabaker of Blairs Mills; one brother, Carl (Audrey) Eutzy of Silver Springs, MD; one sister, Betty Donavon of Hays Grove; seventeen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer P. Pennabaker, who died on May 17, 2003; step son, Wendell Pennabaker; three brothers; and two sisters.
Her funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment will follow in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday, at the funeral home.
