Nelda Jean (Clugh) Palmer, 92 of Shippensburg, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
She was born March 12, 1925 in Maryland. Nelda was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maude Davis.
She was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. Nelda retired from the Shippensburg University where she was a cook.
She was a member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, and the Minnequa Social Club, all in Shippensburg, and the Landis-McCleaf Detachment Marine Corps League, Chambersburg.
Nelda is survived by two sons, Lawrence Clugh of Newville, and David Clugh of Carlisle; two daughters, Nancy Clugh and Peggy VanScyoc, both of Shippensburg; four sisters,Mary, Helen, Kathrine, and Frannie, all from Maryland; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Clugh; her second husband, Fred Palmer; three sons, Jiles, Jim and Ed Clugh; one brother; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
