N. Hutchison

N. Joan Hutchison, 76, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born September 13, 1934 in Rockhill Furnace, she was a daughter of the late Harrison Malcolm and Nellie Burkett Steninger and by Helen Steninger, her step-mother who raised her.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Shippensburg. Joan was Co-Owner and Operator of Fisher’s Florists and Greenhouse for 29 years, along with her husband, until retiring in 1996. She continued to work part-time until the time of her passing. She was a graduate of Orbisonia High School.
Joan was a faithful servant of the Lord, and a faithful wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, L. Max Hutchison whom she married July 6, 1954, three sons, J. Mark Hutchison and his wife Cindy of Palmyra, Paul B. Hutchison, and Timothy S. Hutchison and his wife Stacy all of Shippensburg, two daughters, Anne E. Hutchison of Shippensburg, and Ruth E. Stough and her husband Jonathan of Mechanicsburg, eight grandchildren, Emily, Alycia, Brian, Kaitlin, Logan, Luke, Harrison, and Jackson, one great grandson, Micah, two brothers, Louis Steninger of Lititz, and Larry Steninger of Landisville, two sisters, Jane Summers of Carlisle, and Nancy Smith of Reedsville, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011 in the First Assembly of God Church, Shippensburg at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Daniel E. Cluck and The Rev. Daniel Summers. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. The viewing will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in church.
