Miriam E. Hock, 84, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born on January 24, 1929, in Newville, she was a daughter of the late David F. and Rhoda Hoover Ocker. On May 4, 1957, Miriam married Mr. Walter E. Hock in Hagerstown, MD. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2013.
Miriam was employed as a seamstress at the former Greif Co., Shippensburg, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of the Hope Reformed Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg and in her free time liked to crochet and garden.
Miriam is survived by her son, Rankin E. and his wife Donna R. Hock of Shippensburg; two grandsons, Benjamin D. and Justin D. Hock, both of Shippensburg; one brother, Samuel J. and his wife Evelyn Ocker of Newville; one sister, Janet Hockensmith of Newville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Miriam was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Ocker; and two sisters, Julia Killian and Martha Oiler.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Dr. David J. Fidati will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
