Miriam Elizabeth Wenger Barnhart, 87, of Biglerville, passed peacefully in her home with loving family by her side on Friday, November 8, 2024.
Born Wednesday, December 9, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Earl and Zora Jane (Crusey) Wenger.
Miriam was a 1954 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School. Miriam was a painter, pianist, and organist who always enjoyed the practice of her hobbies. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Gettysburg, PA.
Miriam is survived by a daughter, Pamalee Joyce and husband Jonathan Lady of Biglerville; a grandson, Ira Jonathan and wife Andrea Lady of Arendtsville; five sisters, Janet Louise Friese of Shippensburg, Freda Jane Kyner of Alabama, Velva Zora Kyner of Newville, Leora Mae Andrews of Shippensburg, and Barbara Ann Newcomer of Chambersburg; five brothers, Samuel Earl Wenger, Jr. of Shippensburg, Lester Kenneth Wenger of Amberson, John Lee Wenger of Newburg, Rodney Woodrow Wenger of Pleasant Hall, and James Edward Wenger of Shippensburg; four great-grandchildren, Ashya, Blake, Andon, and Izabelle, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Carl Barnhart who passed away February 26, 2021, and four sisters, Marie Catherine Cook, Carma Lauretta Runshaw, Mary Caroline Eller, and Sandra Jean Spoonhour.
Miriam’s arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. in Shippensburg. Per Miriam’s request, there will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and time.
