Miles D. “Dan” Daniels, 88, of Menno Village, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Chambersburg.
Born June 28, 1922 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Dewey D. and Florence E. Cassel Daniels.
Dan was a1940 graduate of Highspire High School, a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII, he retired as a Machinist from Grove Manufacturing and was a very devoted husband to his wife Dorothy and loved gardening.
Dan was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church, a life member of The Lume McNeal Byers AMVETS Post # 224, Charles Nitterhouse VFW # 1599 and Burt J. Asper American Legion Post # 46 all in Chambersburg.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years Dorothy E. Miller Daniels, a grandson; Brian G. Daniels, Java, VA, a brother; Lynn Daniels, Hummelstown, a sister; Jean Mrakovich of Margate, FL, four sister in-laws; Vivian Peters and Mary Showvaker both of Shippensburg, Rachel O’Donnell, Chambersburg and Barbara Miller, Camp Hill and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son; Larry B. Daniels who died October 31, 1998 and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Suzanne A. Elliott officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
