Mildred L. Myers, 87, a resident of The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, died on the morning of Monday, August 12, 2013, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on August 11, 1926, in Mt. Pleasant, PA, a daughter of the late Charles B. and Gertrude Wiles Newell.
Mildred worked as a seamstress at the former Greif Co., Shippensburg, retiring in 1984, after 27 years of employment.
She was a member of the Lurgan United Brethren Church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, walking, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by her three sons, David John (Linda) Myers of Newburg; Boyd C. (Beverly) Myers of Upper Strasburg, and Jerry L. Myers of Roxbury; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; her sister, Beatrice (Fred) Kane of Lower Horse Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Nelson Myers, who died on October 23, 1985; and many brothers and sisters.
Her funeral service will be held at 10;30 a.m., on August 15, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Richard E. Mose will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday, at the funeral home.
