Mildred L. Martin, 93, of Shippensburg, died on the evening of Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on April 21, 1921, in Shippensburg, a daughter of the late John and Sade Beltz Foltz.
Mildred was employed in the Housekeeping Department at Shippensburg University for twenty seven years, retiring in 1985.
She was a long-time member of the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren and when she wasn’t working all the time, liked to spend her free time in her flower beds.
Mildred is survived by two sons, Orville M. (Patricia) Martin of Carlisle and David M. (Lisa) Martin of Bridgeville; three daughters, Bonnie A. (Jake) Crider of Shippensburg, Sandy K. Santos of Gaithersburg, MD, and Barbara L. Martin of Shippensburg; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Orville R. Martin, who died on June 7, 1990; one daughter, Joyce E. Beam; five brothers; and five sisters.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Brian Markle and Rev. Harold E. Yeager officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at the church.
