Mildred V. “Mid” Forrester, 86, of 638 Mud Level Road, Shippensburg, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born December 2, 1923 in Hamilton Township, Franklin County; she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Thesta Foreman Leedy.
She was a member of the Mongul United Brethren Church, enjoyed gardening, flowers and especially her grandchildren.
Mid and her husband of 68 years, John W. Forrester owned and operated their dairy farm on Mud Level Road. They want all their neighbors and friends to know how much they appreciate everything they have done for them.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons; Charlie L. Forrester and his wife Kathy, and Danny G. Forrester and his wife Linda all of Shippensburg, two daughters; Jean M. Wingert and her husband Laban of Mercersburg, and Betty M. Martin and her husband Gerald of Shippensburg, two brothers; Richard and Glen Leedy both of Chambersburg, one sister, Ruby Etter of Chambersburg, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, many nieces, nephews and relatives in Indiana.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son John J. Forrester, a brother Fred Leedy and four sisters; Helen Leedy, Fern Rosenberry, Adaline Peckman, and Florence Rife.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18, 2010 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Rocky W. Spear and The Rev. Richard E. Mose. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
