Michael Anthony Witmer, Jr., 41, departed this life on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at his home.
He was born on June 9, 1976, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Michael Anthony Witmer, Sr. and Penny Comerer Burd.
Michael once worked in the construction field, but could not continue due to being diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. He enjoyed sports and collecting sports memorabilia. His favorite teams were the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Phillies. Michael was always known for coordinating and matching outfit with his team’s apparel. He liked riding motorcycles and four wheelers and was good at sharpening knives.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by a sister, Chrystal Lafferty and husband Shawn of Carlisle; a brother, Jason Jumper of Carlisle; paternal half-brother, John Witmer of Shippensburg; three nephews, Christian and Bradyn Jumper and Brodey Lafferty; and a niece, Serenity Jumper.
In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his daughter, Brooklyn Fay Witmer, who died on February 21, 2011.
His visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg.
