Maureen Elizabeth “Molly” Best, 51, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, from complications arising from epilepsy.
Molly, daughter of Harold Doyle Best and Dorothy McCrerey Best, was born May 27, 1964 in Chambersburg, was raised in Shippensburg where she graduated from SASHS in 1983, and spent most of her adult life living in Mechanicsburg.
She worked for several years at Fry Communications and area nursing homes. Molly always made time for cats, connecting with her Facebook friends, reading, playing games, and watching movies. She prized any opportunity to be with family, especially the little ones. A cousin’s memory of her is that “she was the glue that held the extended family together”.
In addition to her father, she is survived by five brothers, Dennis H. (Linda) Best of Reston, VA, David J. (Deborah) Best of Shippensburg, William J. Best (Michael Fink) of Huntingdon Valley, J. Kevin (Laurie) Best of Manlius, NY, and Thomas D. (Annette) of Midlothian, VA; and three sisters, Anne B. (Glenn) Fink of Dillsburg, Carol Sue (Andy) Mowery of Dillsburg, and Megan E. (Peter) Ihrig of Tavernier, FL; and two generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael G., who died in 1961, and mother Dorothy Marie (McCrerey) Best, who died in 2002.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 7, 2016, in Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg. The Rev. Dwight Schlaline will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Doylesburg. Friends may call at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and the family will also receive friends one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday morning at church.
