Matthew Alan Mowery, 35, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Sunday, November 26, 2023, at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle Hospital.
He was born on August 15, 1988, in Chambersburg, the son of Beverly J. Holtry and the late Jay E. Mowery.
Matthew worked at several of the area distribution warehouses over the years. In his free time he enjoyed working on cars, especially Honda’s; hunting; and was known to be very friendly and extroverted.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Shawna Mowery; his son, Xandyr Mowery; his daughter, Willow Mowery; a step-daughter, Violet Baker; and longtime companion, Breeze Lewis; niece, Gracelyn Craig-Holtry; and nephew, Conrad Mowery, all of Shippensburg. Matthew was preceded in death by his father.
His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service at this time. A memorial service will be planned for a future date and time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray Matthew’s funeral expenses.
