Matthew T. Ashwell, 35, of Shippensburg, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at his home.
Born Monday, October 28, 1985 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Kathy L. Scott and Robert G. Ashwell, Sr.
Matthew was a member of the Blue Mountain Brethren in Christ Church. He formerly worked at the Lesher Farm and Nitterhouse Concrete in Chambersburg.
His passion was music and playing guitar. Matthew enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, campfires, working on cars. He truly loved the outdoors and was a very outgoing and social fellow.
He is survived by his God mother, Sherri L. “Fuzzy” Turpin, Chambersburg; one son, Kameron T. Ashwell, Mt. Alto; one brother, Robert G. Ashwell, Jr., Newville; one sister, Tamara L. Clark, Shippensburg; grandmother, Blanche E. Scott; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Scherris Horn; and maternal grandfather, Wayne T. Scott.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the LSL Sportsman Club, 3549 Orrstown Road, Orrstown, PA 17244, with Pastor Luke Holtry officiating. Burial will be private. Family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Blue Mountain Brethren In Christ Church, 215 Tabor Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
