Mary Wadel

Mary A. Wadel, 94, of Chambersburg, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born October 13, 1917 in Shippensburg, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Rebecca Horst Ebersole.
Mary was a member of the Strasburg Mennonite Church, Chambersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noah B. Wadel, Sr. who died January 11, 1997 and the mother of his children, Lydia M. Horst Wadel who died June 14, 1958. A step-daughter, Emily Ruth Wadel and a sister, Cora Ebersole are also deceased.
Mary is survived by six step-sons, John S. Wadel and his wife Connie and Daniel H. Wadel and his wife Esther Mae all of Chambersburg, Luke M. Wadel of Dry Run, Noah B. Wadel, Jr. of Willow Hill, James M. Wadel and his wife Ellen of Plainview, TX, and Robert D. Wadel and his wife Brenda of Chambersburg, three step-daughters, Esther M. Showalter and her husband Lester of Greencastle, Eunice E. Lehman and her husband Clair of Chambersburg, and Martha E. Horst and her husband Isaac of Millen, GA, 50 grandchildren, and 120 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 in the Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Bro. Allen Fleagle, Bro. Nathan Wadel, and Bro. Lee Lehman. Burial will be in the Rowe Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening in the Rowe Mennonite Church from 6-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Friday morning.
