Mary Lou Hancock Thaler, 73, of Pine Stump Road, Chambersburg, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at her home.
Born Friday, October 21, 1938 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Harper and Lena Warren Hancock.
Mary Lou was a 1957 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She attended the Green Village First Church of God.
Mary worked at the former Fort James Company in Chambersburg and later retired from the Chambersburg School District as a custodian. She loved gardening, crocheting and knitting.
Surviving is one son, Jay E. Corwell and his wife Karen of Dry Run, one bother, Samuel L. Hancock of Shippensburg, two sisters, Patricia Ann Adams of Shippensburg and Peggy Furry of Chambersburg, one granddaughter, Shelly Corwell of Shippensburg and one grandson, Jay E. Corwell Jr. and his wife Amy of Cincinnati, OH. and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Wayne, Richard and Roger Hancock and one sister, Nancy Hancock.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
