Mary Neil

Mary E. Neil, 70, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Sunday, November 6, 1949 in Shippensburg, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Lowery William and Dorothy Mae Perry Varner.

Mary graduated from the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She retired in 2015 from Schreiber Foods in Shippensburg.

She was a member of Grace Family Fellowship, Williamsport, Maryland. Mary loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Ronald D. (wife Cheryl) Varner, Mercersburg, Catherine M. (husband Mitchell) Thomas, Fayetteville, Merl A. Neil and Arthur W. (wife Tracey) Neil, all of Shippensburg; two brothers, Lowery W. Varner, Jr., Shippensburg and Gerald E. Varner, Fort Loudon; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merl Arthur Neil, who died in 1989; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Pastor Richard Kissel officiating. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home.
