Mary E. Naugle, 97, of Shippensburg, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Tuesday, September 7, 1915 in Southampton Township, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Estella D. Masters Ewan.
Mary was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post # 223, both in Shippensburg. She worked at the former L’Aiglon Company in Shippensburg and volunteered for Meal on Wheels. She was an avid reader, cookie baker and loved doing word searches.
Surviving are one son, Charles E. Naugle and his wife Patsy, two daughters, Sally N. Long and her husband Gary and Marylou N. Deutsch and her husband Ray all of Shippensburg; one sister in-law Mary C. Minor of Walnut Bottom; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ambose E. “Pete” Naugle who died May 12, 1994, one son Peter Ellsworth Naugle, three sisters and two brothers.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
