Mary Irene Lewis, 87, died peacefully Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in Green Ridge Village, Newville.
Born December 13, 1926 in Toronto, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Pavlinak Borovatz, but she always called Pennsylvania her home.
Mary worked for many years ensuring retired military were paid correctly at Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN, but mostly she was a mother to her family and friends.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, David and Annette Lewis of Indianapolis, IN, Jerry and Linda Lewis, of Shippensburg, and Susie and Kevin Molitor, of Greenwood, IN, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
A celebration and thanksgiving of her life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 13, 2014 (her 88th birthday) at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, 305 N Prince ST, Shippensburg. Fr. Dwight D. Schlaline will officiate. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Green Ridge Village-Chapelwood, 210 Big Spring Road, Newville, PA 17241.
