Mary “Jane” Horn, 74, of Upper Strasburg, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born Friday, February 21, 1947 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose Aaron and Cora Blanche Shetter Patterson.
Jane was a 1965 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She was a member of the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg, and their Ladies Sewing Circle.
Jane worked as the Letterkenny Township Tax Collector for 20 years. She was a member of the Tax Collector Association.
She owned and operated Jane Horn’s Mountain View Beauty Salon for 24 years.
She was the most caring, loving, thoughtful person to her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jane also enjoyed spending time with her sisters, laughing and playing card games at sister’s night once a week.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry Gene Horn whom she married July 3, 1966; one daughter, Stacie L. (husband Kevin) Grove; one son, Judson G. (wife Amy) Horn, all of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Dakota L. (wife Brianne) Grove, Chambersburg, Kyle J. (wife Breanna) Grove, Shippensburg, Ashton N. (husband Grant) Heckman, Mercersburg; three great grandchildren, Kasen J. Grove, Klara J. Grove, both of Shippensburg, and Tannen B. Heckman, Mercersburg; four sisters, Darlene Fraker, Joann Wright, Jean Rook, and Shirley Holtry, and one brother, Marvin Patterson, all of Upper Strasburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Bobletz, and one infant brother, Richard Patterson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church with the Rev. John Melhorne officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Friday in the church.
