Mary Alice Holtry, 88, a resident of the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle, formerly of 1032 Ridge Road, Shippensburg, died Friday, February 25, 2011 in the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 20, 1922 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County. Mary was a daughter of the late Irvin Charles and Sevilla Golden Killian.
She was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg. Mary enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and building puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Ross H. Holtry 69 years who died March 9, 2009 and four brothers are also deceased.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Betty J. Alleman and her husband Charles of Newville, two sons; Kenneth E. Holtry and his wife Linda, and Paul R. Holtry and his wife Mitzi all of Shippensburg, two brothers; Earl Killian of Chambersburg, and Robert Killian of Shippensburg, one sister, Dorothy Cover of Chambersburg, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Earl F. Stovall and The Rev. Kelly D. Clouse. Burial will be in the Ridge Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Church.
