Mary Heckman

Mary Catherine “Cass” Heckman, 83, a resident at The Village of Laurel Run, and formerly of Lantern Lane, Chambersburg, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Tuesday, June 23, 1931 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Miley and May V. Brown Eichelberger.

Mary was a 1949 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. She worked as a Retail Manager at the former L’aiglon Clothing Factory and later retired from the Grief Clothing Company as an Inspector, both in Shippensburg.

She loved spending time with her children, enjoyed traveling to Nashville, TN and Branson MO. and loved Country Music.

Surviving are two daughters, Lucinda M. Wible and her husband, Ronald of Shippensburg and Pamela A. Walter and her husband, Larry of Chambersburg, one son, James L. “Jim” Heckman, Jr. and his wife Jennette of Shippensburg, three grandsons, Terry Kennedy, Jeremy Heckman both of Shippensburg and Matthew Kennedy of Harrisburg, four granddaughters, Ronda Coy of Shippensburg, Michelle Wolford and Heather Fisher both of Orrstown, and Laurie Schofield of Chambersburg and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Heckman who died April 19, 2007 and her step father, William “Buck” Furry.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
