Mary E. Friese, 104, of Shippensburg, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at home.
She was born June 12, 1910 in Letterkenny Township, Franklin County. Mary was a daughter of the late John N. and Mary A. Reitz Forrester.
She retired July 1, 1975 from the H.J. Heinz Company in Chambersburg. Mary was a member of the Mongul United Brethren Church, Shippensburg and the Golden Age Club in Chambersburg.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lester Friese who died July 2, 1976; a great grandson, Brett D. Clough; two brothers, John and Clarence Forrester; and two sisters Ethel Friese and Pearl Besore.
Mary is survived by two children, Henry L. Friese, Sr. of Orrstown, and Betty L. Kelso of Shippensburg; nine grandchildren, Paul W. Kelso, Kay L. Yeruski, Nancy E. Kelso, Woody Kelso, Mary E. Kelso, Diane I. Boyd, Kimberly A. Roden, Pamela S. Herb and Henry L. Friese, Jr.; 20 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 10 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Richard E. Mose. Burial will be held in the Salem Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
