Mary Fogelsanger

Mary Elizabeth Fogelsanger, 92, of Shippensburg, died Monday, August 6, 2012 in Menno Haven, Chambersburg.
Born Tuesday, November 25, 1919 in Southampton Township, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late James Garfield and Lilly M. Wagner Watson.
Mary was a 1936 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She received a teaching degree from Shippensburg State Teachers College and a Masters Degree in education from Penn State. She started her career in a one room school house in Franklin County where she worked for five years, then taught in the Hershey public school district for five years and finished her 37 year teaching career at Rowland Elementary School at the Shippensburg University.
Mary was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God and attended the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the Civic Club and College Club both in Shippensburg and was an avid traveler alongside her late husband.
Surviving are her sister, L. Kathryn Long of Shippensburg and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene Fogelsanger who died July 7, 1997 and three brothers, J. Ernest, Lester and Alfred A. Watson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Harold E. Yeager and the Rev. Paul Boll officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity in Mary’s name.
