Mary E. Dunlap, 54, of 510 Westover Road, Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, June 10, 2010 in her home.
Born July 9, 1955 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of Raymond and Betty Fox Sanders of Sabillasville, MD.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, Chambersburg and their New Creations Sunday School Class. For the past 10 years she was employed as an administrative assistant at Chambersburg Hospital and before that she worked for over 20 years at McGraw-Hill in Blue Ridge Summit. Mary was a 1973 graduate of the Catoctin High School, Thurmont, MD. She was captain of her Relay for Life Team the Rays of Hope. Mary had a great sense of humor, enjoyed singing, practical jokes, card and board games and most of all her family pets.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Barry R. Dunlap whom she married June 4, 2000, one daughter, Megan L. Martin of Shippensburg, one son, Nathan R. Dunlap of Shippensburg, three brothers; Larry Sanders of Cascade, MD, David Sanders of Waynesboro, and James Sanders of Emmitsburg, MD, two sisters; Deborah Sanders of Waynesboro, and Rita Pickett of Carlisle, four nieces and eight nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Rathvon.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, Chambersburg at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Garry L. Culler. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery, Newburg. The viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services Wednesday afternoon in the church.
