Mary Black

Mary E. Black, 73, of Orrstown, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at home.

She was born May 24, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. Mary was a daughter of the late Joseph and Esther Green Ferry.

Mary attended Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg. She was a 1964 graduate of the Shippensburg High School.

Mary is survived by her husband, Donald R. Black, four children, Christina M. Black of Orrstown, Joshua C. (Christie) Black of Newburg, Joni N. (Randy) Ascanio of Newburg and Katie J. Black and her companion, John Paul Povilaitis of Shippensburg, one brother, Phillip Ferry of Chambersburg, three sisters, Sharon Rohm of Loysville, Donna Stouffer and Carol Bowermaster both of Chambersburg, five grandchildren, Gabrielle and Clayton Black, Joseph and Patrick Ascanio and Oliver Povilaitis, numerous nieces and nephews and an expected granddaughter, Eleanor Poviliatis.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Rohm and one brother, John Ferry.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Officiating will be Father Dwight Schlaline. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. There will be no viewing the day of the funeral service.
