Mary Anne Bittinger, 83, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Monday, December 13, 1937 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph William “Bid” and Sarah Blanche Gilbert Nehf.
She was a 1955 graduate of the Shippensburg High School. Mary Anne was a member of the Cleversburg United Methodist Church.
Mary Anne loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed canning food, cooking, campfires, and spending time with her family.
Mary Anne is survived by one son, Joseph William Bittinger; three daughters, Tammy Lee Forney, Rena Kay (Bryan L.) Gigous, and Wanda Anne (Tyler S.) Watson, all of Shippensburg; eight grandsons, Jeramy Joseph Eugene Bittinger, Hunter Scott Forney, Devin Scott Watson, Derek Tyler Watson, Austin James Watson, Casey Joshua Gigous, Bret Aaron Watson, and Garrett Ryan Gigous; two granddaughters, Brittney Lea Raymo, and Sarah Marie Morda; seven great grandchildren, Noah Alan Raymo, Ivin Edward Morda, Harleigh Grace Watson, Everly Rose-Anne Watson, Ryan Enzo Morda, Cannon Elizabeth Eutzy, and Rylee AnnMarie Eutzy; two sisters, Virginia Pauline Breon, and Sarah Irene Myers; one brother, Kenneth Elmer Nehf; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. “Shorty” Bittinger who died July 19, 2012; two brothers, Charles Leon Nehf and Edgar William Nehf; and two sisters, Myrtle Grace Delancy and Vivian Carol Negley.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cleversburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Karl Herman officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Sunday, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Monday, in the church.
