Mary McKeown Ballance, 85, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Paramount Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Fayetteville, PA.
Born Thursday, April 7, 1938 in Inisrush, Ireland. She was a daughter of the late Adam T. and Lizzie Ann (Williamson) McKeown.
Mary was of the Protestant Faith. She loved flowers, cooking, and Gospel music. Mary also loved and cherished her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy L. (Gregory) Neil, and Diane Lee Ballance, all of Shippensburg; one son, Mark A. (Irene) Ballance, Gig Harbor, WA; one grandson, Garrett H.C. Gibson, Shippensburg; and two sisters, Elizabeth Weishaupt, Shippensburg, and Shelagh VanderVeen, Clarkston, MI.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ocie M. Ballance, Jr., who passed away January 28, 2020; two brothers, John McKeown, and Adam T. McKeown, Jr.; one sister, Henrietta McKeown Sowers; and one granddaughter, Hannah Nicole Neil.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with the Rev. Marlin A. “Butch” Neil officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
